Deborah Banjaw

Deborah Banjaw, Operations Lead for TEDxLakeheadU, brings a thoughtful and people-centered approach to delivering seamless, impactful events. With a strong ability to critically assess operational elements, Deborah plays a key role in strategizing processes, coordinating diverse stakeholders, and ensuring teams work collaboratively. She encourages leadership across team members, fostering an environment of accountability, inclusion, and innovation. A local community leader and Honours Bachelor of Commerce graduate, Deborah has extensive experience leading programs through the Faculty of Business Students’ Association (FoBSA). Deeply passionate about equity and representation, Deborah actively supports diversity, equity, and inclusion through collaborative efforts with the Laidlaw Foundation and the Foundation for Black Communities. Her work is grounded in building safe, inclusive spaces that support educational growth and meaningful engagement, particularly for Black and other minority youth and newcomers within the Thunder Bay community. Through a panoramic lens of operations leadership, Deborah is dedicated to ensuring equitable opportunities while delivering successful, creative productions.
